HYDRONIC HEATINGINSTALLATION HOBART

Hobart's Hydronic Heating Experts

The ultimate way to manage comfort throughout your entire home. Hydronic heating is one of the most energy-efficient, peaceful and allergy friendly options available to heat your home.

How Hydronic Heating Works: Your Guide to Home Comfort.

  • Water is heated and distributed around your home, either in radiator panels usually mounted on the wall or via pipework located in the floor.
  • Unlike other heating systems that use fans or vents to blow warm air around the room, hydronic heating warms your living space through radiation, which results in an even distribution of heat.

Cheaper Long-Term

Although hydronic heating can have higher upfront costs, it can require up to 30% less energy per m2 to heat your home than many ducted or central heating systems.

Allergy-Friendly

Hydronic heating does not emit or circulate airborne dust particles or bacteria like common ducted or split system heaters, making it perfect for asthma or allergy sufferers.

No Noise + Out of Sight

Say goodbye to the sound of your ducted heating starting up and the sight of heating vents or split systems around your home. Instead, in-slab hydronic heating is neatly hidden and will warm your home without a sound.

Safest Heating

Hydronic heating is one of the safest available today. The floor slabs are fully enclosed, so there is no danger of burning or scalding and no exposed flames, electrical connections or harmful toxins, making it perfect for the elderly, children and pets.

Most Comfortable

Hydronic heating distributes a comfortable, even heat from the floor up. It takes your slab from feeling cold and hard underfoot to warm and almost soft. Plus, you can set up specific zones to heat different rooms at varying temperatures.

questions

What is hydronic heating?

Hydronic heating is where a central heat source or heat pump warms the water and then distributes it via pipework to either radiator panels or a concrete slab to heat your home.

Water is a better heat conductor than air, so transferring heat throughout the home with a hydronic system is easier than via ductwork. In-slab heating systems are also less likely to cause heat loss through ceilings. As a result, hydronic systems are more energy-efficient than air systems.

Depending on the heat source or heat pump, hydronic heating can be a cost-effective heating solution. It can require up to 30% less energy per m2 to warm a house than many ducted or central heating systems.

A gas boiler can be used as a heating fuel source where electricity is not a suitable solution.

Hydronic pipework is fixed to an in-floor mounting system, so the pipework is evenly distributed. Generally, it is recommended to install hydronic heating during a new build; however, retrofitting can occasionally be accommodated depending on the existing infrastructure and flooring.

Systems are turned on either manually or via an automated timer. Some systems can be Wi-Fi-enabled and operated remotely.

Hydronic heating requires a custom solution to meet the specific dimensions of your property. That’s why we can’t provide an estimate without seeing the property.

Zoning allows you to isolate various spaces within your home to provide heat to the areas that need it. Radiator panels will also allow you to turn the heat off or keep them at a lower temperature in different rooms.

We provide a full warranty on all our workmanship and key suppliers, such as Dakin, Fujitsu and Mitsubishi. In addition, we provide a 5-year full parts and labour warranty for all domestic air conditioning systems sold in Australia.

  • When heating a concrete slab, the floor emits a layer of warm air that acts as an acoustic baffle, improving the acoustics of a room by reducing echoing.
  • Hydronic heating makes no air noise and has no air movement providing a subtle heat that radiates up from the floor.
  • Hydronic heating improves the feel of a concrete slab, making it feel almost “soft” underfoot.
