Bruny Island has long been known for its rugged beauty, but this year it became home to something equally remarkable: the award-winning Nebraska Residence, crowned HIA Tasmanian Home of the Year. A collaboration between visionary design and exceptional craftsmanship, the project showcases what’s possible when innovation, sustainability, and comfort come together.

Built by CWD ( Construction with Destiny) in partnership with architect Lara Maeselee, the Nebraska Residence impressed judges with its refined architecture, intelligent use of natural materials, and seamless integration with the island’s pristine environment. Every detail—from the expansive glazing to the thoughtful spatial flow—was crafted to celebrate light, landscape, and the slow, grounding rhythm of island living.

Climate Comfort, Perfectly Delivered by Sackett Services

A home of this caliber demands a climate-control solution that matches its performance, and that’s where Sackett Services played a key role. To ensure year-round comfort in the often-variable Tasmanian climate, Sackett Services designed and installed a Mitsubishi Electric ducted heating and cooling system specifically tailored to the home’s unique layout and energy goals.
