How much does a ducted heating system cost?
Determining the cost of a ducted heating system does require a specialised quote as it can vary based on the size and layout of the premises. That said, our general advice is that your budget for a ducted system will need to start at around $10,000 to be able to meet your needs.
Do you need to service your ducted heating system?
All mechanical or electrical systems will require services to maintain efficiency and air quality.
Is it cheaper to leave ducted heating on?
Depending on the type of systems and the occupancy of the house, it can be more efficient to leave central systems on. However, a different set-point should be used when the house is unoccupied.
Can you add heating to ducted cooling?
You can add cooling to a gas ducted heating system.
What is the difference between a Ducted heating/cooling unit and a ducted air transfer kit?
We have a lot of enquiries about installing a ducted unit when in actual fact what is needed is an air transfer kit.
An air transfer kit moves air from one room to the other via a fan and duct work. It works well with wood heaters and is usually used to move hot air from the lounge room to the bedrooms.
However it is not efficient when working with a wall or floor mount heat pump as the heat pump is sized to the area it is required to heat or cool. When you install the air transfer kit to take more air from the room it is extra work on the unit.
At present we do not install air transfer kits, however if this is something you require, call our office and we can provide you with information.
A ducted unit is an electric heat pump which is installed with duct work and the air is distributed through vents in the wall or floor and services multiple rooms. It is controlled via a wall controller to reach the ambient temperature throughout the whole house.
How much is a ducted heat pump?
Depending on the size of the area, ducted heating can start from a price slightly higher than a floor-type heat pump system.
How much is ducted heating and cooling?
The cost to have a ducted heating system is no more than a system that can only cool.
Does ducted heating and cooling come with a warranty?
We provide full warranty on all our workmanship and key suppliers, such as Fujitsu and Mitsubishi. We provide a 5-year full parts and labour warranty for all domestic air conditioning systems sold in Australia.
